Four Sites to Help You Fix Your Finances

While we wait out The Virus, how about using your time to evaluate your financial situation? Keeping healthy, staying safe, and taking care of our loved ones are all at the top of the list of what we need to do, but we are dealing with economic uncertainty as well. Don’t feel overwhelmed! Use these resources to help you feel organized and prepared to handle what comes your way.

Mint

Mint is a spending tracker through a free app. Intuit offers this product, as well as Turbotax and Quickbooks. You must set up an account and provide access to spending accounts for the tracking to happen. A blog is available through Intuit, with financial articles offering ideas for budgeting, saving and spending. However, most of the information is not personalized and is from a business perspective, not a personal savings perspective. After setting up an account, I declined to upload my account information and moved on to the next possibility.

Nerd Wallet

Nerd Wallet offers a robust selection of articles featuring financial advice. You can access these without creating an account or uploading any personal information, which is a big bonus in my book. However, if you choose to create an account, you are able to upload financial information that allows more tailored advice. You will find plenty of information here without creating the account. Nerd Wallet delivers pointers and education on specifics like mortgages, investing, insurance and the like. I’ll be visiting this one again.

Pigly

Meet this newcomer to the financial advice field! Pigly offers lots of calculators and budgeting tools. No account required and no personal information stored. I like that, alot. Here you will find great articles on personal finance, budgeting, saving and investing. Start here on your path to financial knowledge with solid information in an easy to read presentation. Pigly delivers what you need.

Daily Worth

The Daily Worth is a female centered blog site run by Her Money, a company affiliated with Jean Chatzky. No account is required, a bonus in my book. Sign up for the daily  email newsletter to get financial insights daily. There’s plenty of good information available, but you also have to sort through articles such as “The Only Types of Purses and Handbags You Need to Own.” I’m not here for that, I want he money information. I found the mix of fashion and finance slightly irritating. Otherwise there is some good information on this site, and I’d stay awhile to read it.

We are all living in a slowed down world at the moment, so use the time to build your financial knowledge. Stay strong, stay healthy, and stay informed!
